Pastors & Staff
The pastors and staff here at Valleyview welcome you!  Get to know us a bit better by reading below.

Dan Warkentin

Senior Pastor

Dan & Bernie WarkentinI love being a pastor! What an awesome privilege to be able to care for people and make a difference in their lives! My wife Berni and I have been in pastoral ministry for approximately 25 years. We love people and love seeing people discover a relationship with Jesus Christ.

We have three grown children. Two living with us and one is married. Last year we entered the world of grandparenting! There is nothing like seeing your grand daughter sit on you lap and giggle at you. I enjoy motorcycles and particularly riding my sport bike. We both enjoy our camping and travelling. For exercise I do hiking and enjoying God's creation.

Valleyview is a very caring and accepting group of people. God is using us to do things that really matter and I look forward to what He is going to do through us together in days to come!

Ryan Cardinal

Associate Pastor (Youth & Young Adults)

Hey! Since starting in October of 2006, I have had the privilege of serving at Valleyview working with the youth and young adults as well as leading music and helping out with whatever else pops up. Previously I attended Briercrest Bible College, worked several summers at Gardom Lake Bible Camp, did a year of missions work in Spain and Morocco, and worked in Vancouver in the film/computer industry.

Ryan CardinalMy greatest desire is to lead people continually deeper in their relationship with Christ and spur them on to be a light for Christ wherever they are at in life - be it work, play, or anywhere else. I am passionate about missions (both overseas and local) and about worshipping God through music - I am so grateful for his gift of music to us: good music is like caffeine to my soul.

I am also passionate and truly thankful God made the coffee bean and gave us the smarts to figure out how to brew it finely, especially into Americano's. :) I also enjoy golfing, reading (non-fiction), LOST, BBQ's, traveling (missions!), and ethnic foods (yum!).

I have amazing parents, 2 little sisters, and 4 grandparents. I miss them all often because they all now live in Alberta. God has graced me though with an amazing church family that takes care of me in my absence from them, and also a very cool, laid back, roommate.
